Weekly News: 03 Oct 2014

A lot of age groups are finished at this stage, but Castlegar are still active in the U15 and U21 A-Championships. The U15 team drew in a very high scoring Group-1 encounter against Kilnadeema-Letrim the week before last, but last Monday evening they were defeated by Clarinbridge. That leaves them tied for second place in group one. The top two teams in each group contest the semi finals, so tomorrow, the 4th, they face a play off against Kilnadeema-Letrim for that semi final spot. The game is at 11am in Letrim and extra time will apply if they finish level this time. The winners will take on Turloughmore in the semi finals in a couple of weeks time.
Our U21 team were due to play last weekend, but the game did not take place as Ahascragh-Fohenagh conceded the fixture. That result leaves us in a preliminary quarter final against Loughrea on Saturday the 11th at 3pm in Kenny Park.
The best of luck to both teams and as ever check our social media pages for the results on the day.
Our Last Man Standing fundraiser for schools coaching looks set to be a great success once again. Round one starts with tomorrows Premier League fixtures, many thanks to everyone who entered and the very best of luck. The results will be posted on our website during the week.
